On preview I saw the banner image with the tomato hornworm. We had them for the first time a few summers ago. From what I have heard they only recently made it this far north. Stupid global warming.

But, I read about a woman who trained her dogs to eat them and then let the dogs in the garden to do the hard and dirty work.

Cilantro does grow quickly and usually well before the rest of the salsa ingredients are done. The tips in this article are very good. The great thing about reading friend's websites via RSS feed is you can be patient with their update schedules. You are easily forgiven because you and your lovely other half have been busy.

no, I did not make that connection because that’s a bogus one.

And yes, it is much more enjoyable these days. Back then, it was way over our heads and there’s nothing worse than having to try and watch/understand Joseph Campbell at 8am.

The solid state will never replace the vacuum tubes!!! By ca. 1990 A.D. the computing engine will be the size of a shipping container and cars will fly!!

We freakin lost our laptop HD, so I had to bring out the brand-old 1999 HP Brio (with the CD-RW from TDK, as $500 was too much for the factory installed option). So I had to resubscribe to the RSS links — looks like I’ve missed a lot….

I should try to mod one to clean up after the turtles!!

it DOESN’T get trapped! That’s the beauty of it! Well, this morning it got trapped in the bathroom because normally, the door is open so it can get the floor. Apparently it somehow knocked the door enough so it closed the door on itself.

Actually, yeah, when it gets stuck, it sings a little song and then beeps before it shuts itself off.

Listening to a show about roses on Diane Rhem. Not sure this will work on vegetables but some people kept Japanese Beetles off their roses by (a) spraying the plants w/vegetable oil spray [Pam] and (b) blending the beetles in a blender w/water and spraying that all over the plants.

Uh, so if you’re up for either of these ideas… Or else stick w/the traps.

What’s happens when the Roomba gets trapped? Does it shut itself off? Will it accidentally drive off a flight of stairs?

I keep thinking of the Arrested Development episode where the Roomba drives up to Buster and beeps. Buster says, “Oh, you’re hungry” and feeds it a cheetos.
