Weird Al -“Polkarama” — look for the polka medley to include Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, The Killers, and of course, te Weez
and

Weird Al – “White and Nerdy” — possibly one of his best of the decade, which isn’t saying much because the rest of the decade has produced crap like Poodle Hat.
I swear — I’ll update more soon. School is hectic but good, work is really busy and we haven’t even hit fall yet. I can’t wait to see what the holidays will bring.

Garden update: hot peppers are coming in just dandy, I’ll have habaneros all winter long. Pumpkins are ripening, I got one watermelon and 2 cantalopes. Zukes are staging a brave late-season comeback, and so are the jalapenos. Next year, I’m going to get the peppers in earlier so I can get 2 crops of jalapenos before the frost, same with the tomatoes. Oh, yeah, the tomatoes. They look just silly now as I stripped them down of dead weight so all that’s left are a few green shreds maintaining a slight amount of life to sustain the 3 tomatoes still on the branches that need to turn red.

Tonight I took the hose to those bastard yellowjackets, their late-season swarming has pissed me off for the last time. So, since the poison wouldn’t reach up there, I did the only thing a man would do: I sprayed them with the hose. The first one I got off quickly, then pounced on it with the spray. The other one in the front came down with a thud and crushed on contact with the cement, and I soaked that one with poison as well. Once it gets colder, I’ll go into the barn and get all the ones who have built a condo association in the rafters.

Someone left Weird Al in my car’s CD player this morning, all cued up and ready to go. Hmmmmm…

    hmmm…and what did you think?

The song I heard was funny/good–that false start was pure genius–but the call to NPR was too strong and after 1 song I switched to radio, where I bummed myself out listening to a discussion about the Nature of Evil. Weird Al goes back in on my drive home!

OK, after additional listening I have to give it a big thumbs up. Canadian Idiot rules!
